Our work philosophy is based on personalization: it is about going further than a mere “standardization”.
In general, standardization refers to a series of rules aimed at guaranteeing the organization and uniformity of the processes that make up a specific activity. In the field of translation, a goal like this consists in guaranteeing the greatest possible degree of terminological coherence and uniformity. To achieve this we use what are known as CAT (computer assisted translation) tools, as well as specific glossaries which can be used on a network.
Standardization is therefore a basic and necessary factor so that the terminology that a company or brand uses is the same in all of its documents, and therefore clear and coherent, including of course in your translation as well.
However, given the demands in complicity, volumes and turnaround times which characterize business translation, it is increasingly facing the challenge of limiting itself to a series of repetitive processes which, although essential for avoiding errors, can lead to a depersonalized translation. We must not forget that it is a field whose excellence in the end is determined by the human factor, or rather, by the intellectual qualities of the translator.
To establish a solid line of communication between the two parties it is first necessary to know the culture, of both the sender and the receiver, and know how to penetrate each one’s psychology. This applies to all types of documents.
Each client is unique, and our experience has shown us that the best results in our field are achieved by applying a good share of emotional intelligence, solely by expert and trade-versatile translators, so that each project acquires its own personality.
Planning and execution of projects
Analysis and preparing the quote.
When you send us a quote request (via our form or via email), its preparation is assigned to a manager in our team according to the language combination and the sector which the project relates to. The manager analyzes the characteristics of the project with CAT (computer assisted translation) tools and sends a quote and delivery date to your email address.
If you approve the quote (responding affirmatively to our email, as we indicate in it) the manager becomes from that moment your interlocutor and remains in permanent contact with you. The manager, who is also a translator, can handle the translation directly or otherwise organize a workgroup with our external translators according to the project’s volume and turnaround time.
Obviously, translators work exclusively into their native language and within their fields of specialization. All of our in-house team is comprised of professional managers-translators, and we request the same skills and professional qualifications from our external collaborators.
Translation process: linguistic engineering, style management and quality control
The first step in the translation process consists in establishing terminological uniformity to guarantee linguistic coherence throughout the entire project. If the project’s typology requires it, or if you request it, your interlocutor will send you a terminology glossary so that you can confirm its appropriateness for the project or for your company’s own terminology. This glossary involves no extra cost and your company will be able to keep it indefinitely with full right of use.
If your company already has other terminology glossaries and would like to apply them, the manager will implement them in the translation process.
Once the linguistic profile has been established, the rest of the translation is performed. If several translators are working on a project, they do so on a network with the same translation memory.
Finally a technical and stylistic quality control check is performed with review by a different linguist. For the technical quality control we use software which statistically analyses the textual corpus. For style management a debriefing is organized between the reviewer and the translators with the aim of guaranteeing the application of our style guide and a perfect level of legibility, as well as personalization in accordance with the project’s objectives.
The manager delivers the project within the stipulated timeframe and continues in contact with the client in order to reply to any questions or provide any further information which the client desires.
